It’s been a long time coming, but public officials in Illinois are finally being called to account for their decades of egregious self-dealing. Members of the Madigan mob aren’t getting automatic passes anymore, and even small fry like former Wood River Drainage and Levee District treasurer Jamie Butkovich have been brought up on charges.

The trial for Wood River Drainage and Levee District secretary and treasurer Jamie Butkovich has been continued to April 1 after she was charged with stealing district funds from March 2017 to September 2018.
Police report shows treasurer stole nearly $70K; Auditor for levee district didn't catch missing funds

According to a police report, Wood River Drainage and Levee District Secretary and Treasurer Jamie Butkovich stole $67,661.41 from the District from March 2017 to September 2018, spending it at various bars, casinos and craft stores.
