A driver for a Belleville auto shop is accused of causing a crash when he allegedly pulled out in front of another driver.

Annan M. Gross filed a lawsuit in St. Clair County Circuit Court Sept. 17 against Vern L. Groom and Poelker’s Garage Inc.

In September 2010 Gross says he was driving a Subaru Impreza west on North Belt West in Belleville. At the same time, Groom was driving an International truck owned by Poelker’s Garage south on North 40th Street, according to the complaint. As he neared the intersection of North 40th Street, Gross claims Groom failed to make a complete stop and pulled out in front of him.

Gross accuses Groom and Poelker’s Garage of negligence for allegedly causing him personal injuries and damage to his car. He seeks more than $200,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income and court fees.

Gross is represented by attorney Thomas B. Cannady of Belleville. They ask for a jury trial.
