A Belleville man is suing a Chicago transportation company and one of its drivers, claiming he was rear-ended by a bus.

Jamil Al Aseeri filed a lawsuit Sept. 14 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Cyril A. Neff and First Student Inc.

The alleged crash happened as Aseeri was driving his 2001 Saturn west on Mascoutah Avenue in October 2011, according to the complaint. As he approached the intersection of Greenmount Lane, Aseeri says he stopped in a line of traffic and was hit from behind by a First Student bus driven by Neff.

Aseeri accuses Neff, individually, and his employer, First Student Inc., of negligence. Aseeri asks for more than $150,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages and court costs.

He is represented by attorney Richard G. Reed of Belleville.
