A Madison County woman is suing a Granite City Wal-Mart and its manager after she allegedly slipped on the store’s bathroom floor.

Tamara Wait filed a lawsuit Sept. 18 in Madison County Circuit Court against Walmart Stores Inc. and Christopher Soltor.

Wait says she was a customer of the West Pontoon Road Walmart in June. Wait was using the handicapped stall nearest the front of the women’s restroom when she slipped on a wet substance on the floor, according to the complaint. Wait says she hurt her back, elbow and leg in the fall.

Wait accuses the store and its manager, Soltor, of negligence for allowing such a substance to accumulate on the bathroom floor. She asks for more then $100,000 in damages for medical expenses, lost wages and court costs.

Attorneys Thomas C. Rich and Kristina D. Cooksey of Fairview Heights represent Wait.
