A Carrollton woman is accused of crashing her car into a Madison County school bus and injuring the driver.

Nicole Vandygriff filed a lawsuit Aug. 15 in Madison County Circuit Court against Cindy Funk.

The alleged crash happened as Vandygriff was driving a 2002 Ford school bus southbound on North Alby Street in Godfrey in May 2011, the complaint reads. Near the intersection of Humbert Road, Vandygriff says she stopped at a railroad crossing. At that time, Funk allegedly drove her 2003 Buick out of a private parking lot, turned south onto North Alby Street and crashed into the stopped school bus.

Vandygriff accuses Funk of negligence and asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages and court fees.

She is represented by attorney Samuel A. Mormino Jr. of Alton.
