A woman and her husband claim their sex lives were compromised following a collision.
Angela R. and James Padgett filed a lawsuit May 30 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Adam M. Willis.
In their complaint, the Padgetts allege Angela R. Padgett was driving south on Black Lane near its intersection with Paul Street in Caseyville on May 1 when Willis, who drove north on the same road, struck the vehicle Angela R. Padgett was driving. Following the collision, Willis fled the scene, according to the complaint.
Because of the collision, James Padgett claims he lost his wife’s services, friendship and companionship and suffered a limitation of their sexual relationship. In addition, Angela R. Padgett suffered pain and incurred medical costs, the suit states.
The Padgetts blame Willis for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to properly apply his brakes, failed to yield the right-of-way, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to stop or swerve to avoid a collision, failed to bring his vehicle to a complete stop and failed to provide Angela Padgett with half of the road.
In their two-count complaint, the Padgetts seek a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs.
Chris Kolker of Kolker Law Offices in Belleville will be representing them.
