Roma Pizza delivery driver sued over rear-end accident

A driver claims he sustained neck, shoulder, back, arm and knee injuries after a pizza delivery driver rear-ended his vehicle.

Susan Sprinot filed a lawsuit May 7 in Madison County Circuit Court against Brian Hale and Roma Pizza Shell Company.

Sprinot claims she drove north on Highway 203 at its intersection with Maryville Road in Granite City on March 16 when Hale, who was driving a vehicle north on the same road for Roma Pizza, struck the back of her vehicle.

In addition to her injuries, Sprinot became sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled; incurred medical costs; and experienced disability, pain and suffering, the suit states. She also lost wages, the complaint says.

Spinot blames Hale for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner so as to strike the back of the vehicle and followed Sprinot’s vehicle too closely.

In her two-count complaint, Sprinot seeks a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs.
