A man blames a doctor for causing him permanent injury after he says the doctor negligently performed surgery on his broken left arm.
Raymond Tribout Jr. and Michelle Tribout filed a lawsuit Nov. 22 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dr. Gregory Simmons and OSMP formerly known as Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Physicians.
In their complaint, the Tribouts claim Raymond Tribout Jr. visited Simmons at Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Physicians on Nov. 23, 2009, to undergo surgery for his broken left arm.
Because of the surgery, Raymond Tribout Jr. claims he suffered permanent injury, permanent pain, mental anguish, disability and disfigurement and lost wages. He also incurred medical costs, according to the complaint.
His wife, Michelle Tribout, alleges she lost her husband’s companionship, consortium, support and services because of the surgery.
In their complaint, the Tribouts do not specify what caused Raymond Tribout Jr.’s injuries, but do blame Simmons for causing them, saying the doctor negligently performed the surgery to repair a left mid-shaft humerus fracture. The Tribouts also do not clarify why they believe the surgery was performed negligently.
In their four-count complaint, the Tribouts seek a judgment of more than $300,000, plus costs.
Thomas Q. Keefe Jr. of Belleville will be representing them.
