FELA suit filed over vehicular accident

A terminal manager for Alton & Southern Railway filed a personal injury and Federal Employers’ Liability Suit against her employer and Timothy Dobler in Madison County Circuit Court Oct. 17, seeking damages in excess of $100,000 for injuries she received during a traffic accident on Jan. 13, 2006.

Eugenia Johnson-Jones of St. Louis alleges while operating an Alton & Southern vehicle to drop off crew members, Dobler of Granite City collided with the rear of the vehicle on Highway 162 in Madison County.

Johnson-Jones alleges Dobler failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout, traveled at an excessive rate of speed and failed to yield the right of way.

She accused Alton & Southern of negligently and carelessly failing to provide her a reasonably safe place to perform her work.

According to Johnson-Jones, she sustained broken ribs, and sustained injuries to her teeth, left shoulder and left knee resulting in great pain and mental anguish, disability, lost wages and medical expenses.

Johnson-Jones is represented by Paul Slocomb of Edwardsville.
