Gary Lindley is suing St. Clair Square mall for injuries he sustained after tripping down a staircase outside the food court on Feb. 21.

Lindley’s suit claims the mall allowed the concrete on the stairs to deteriorate.

He claims injuries to his back, legs and body as a whole, the complaint filed Aug. 25 in St. Clair County Circuit Court states.

Lindley is represented by Gregory L. Shevlin of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew, Brauer & Shevlin of Belleville.

The suit also alleges that the mall and its management company, co-defendant CBL & Associates, failed to keep the treads on the stairway in a smooth and level condition, allowed the nosing to become loose from the stair tread and failed to remove and repair large pieces of concrete and debris from the stair treads.
