Kim Snapp filed a lawsuit Nov. 5 against Norfolk Southern Railway Company in Madison County Circuit Court.
Snapp worked in the maintenance of way department of Norfolk Southern Railroad from 2005 to 2008, according to the complaint. Snapp says he was hurt on the job in November 2007 and, in March 2009, filed a federal employee injury lawsuit against the company.
A settlement was reached, according to Snapp, in the amount of $100,000 plus any outstanding medical bills up to the time of the settlement. However, Snapp alleges Norfolk Southern has failed to pay outstanding medical bills, which he says total more than $37,000.
Snapp is suing Norfolk Southern Railroad for breach of contract and asks for a judgement of what he is owed plus interest and costs of the lawsuit.
Attorney Gregory M. Tobin of East Alton represents Snapp.
