LeChien sets another status conference in case against school bus company regarding collision

St. Clair County Circuit Judge Robert LeChien has scheduled a Nov. 14 case management conference in a case against a school bus company alleging parents and students were hurt during a collision at an O’Fallon elementary school.

Lisa Gish, Justin Jenkins and Lillian Jenkins, individually and on behalf of their minor children, filed the suit against Illinois Central School Bus, LLC on Sept. 19, 2012.

The plaintiffs allege they were sitting in their parked cars in the Central Elementary School parking lot in April 2012, when they were hit from behind by a school bus owned and operated by Illinois Central School Bus, the complaint states.

Illinois Central School Bus has denied the allegations and has sought to dismiss the complaint.

There have been three other status conferences set prior to the one coming up in November: July 8, Aug. 1 and Sept. 16.

Gish and the Jenkins accuse the bus company of comparative negligence and seek a judgment of more than $50,000.

Thomas C. Rich and Kristina D. Cooksey of Fairview Heights represents the plaintiffs.

Rory R. Margulis represents the defendants.
